A 90 minute consultation provides you with tailored advice on colour, layout, and decor, perfect for those seeking professional guidance for their space. Our full-service design, however, is a comprehensive offering from concept to completion, including procurement, installation and styling, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed.

Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes! Our virtual interior design consultations are perfect for clients near and far. Using online platforms, we provide expert advice and design services to transform your space, no matter where you are located. We've consulted virtually with folks in New York, New Orleans, Philadelphia, in the Swiss Alps, in the UK, all across Australia and more.
What should I expect in a consultation? During a consultation, we’ll dive into your design goals, challenges, and personal style. You’ll receive expert recommendations on colour schemes, furniture, layout, and more, tailored to your specific needs. It’s an intimate, collaborative session designed to meet your needs and bring your vision to life

Which option is best for me?
Consultations are great for folks who have a handful of questions and want to source items on their own. This is a good place to start if you're unsure about which option is best. The cost of a consultation can also be applied to full-service if you decide to move forward. Full-service design is a much more comprehensive and collaborative longer-term process, where we handle everything from concept to completion.
WHAT IT COSTS
How much does it cost to work with Alyssa Owens Design?
Costs vary based on the service and project. Full-service design projects have a design fee that is based on the scope and complexity of the project. Get in touch with Alyssa to discuss your home, and she’ll be able to provide a customized fee.
Our virtual interior design consultations are $375 for 90 minutes, while in-person consultations are $475 for 90 minutes.
Do I get access to trade discounts?
Absolutely. As an established interior decoration studio, we have access to exclusive trade discounts across Australia and the US, which can be passed on to you, maximising your budget and enhancing the value of your investment.
How do you determine the budget for a project?
The budget is determined based on your specific needs, the scope of the project, and your style and brand preferences. During the initial consultation, we’ll discuss your budget to ensure we meet your expectations while delivering an elevated, bespoke outcome.
Do you source vintage or second-hand furniture?
We relish sourcing vintage pieces, and a hallmark of our design approach is blending old and new. At Alyssa Owens Design, we believe in creating beautiful, personalised spaces that fit your budget. We blend high-end designer pieces with high-quality retail and carefully selected second-hand items to achieve a killer look.
Can you incorporate items I already own?
Yes, we can integrate items you already own. We value your most cherished existing pieces and will do our best to include them, though there may be instances where certain items don’t align with the new vision. We’ll navigate these choices together.

What is the timeline for completing an interior decorating project?
Timelines vary based on project scope, but a typical full-service design project can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months from initial consultation to final installation. Timelines can be accelerated if we’re using in-stock pieces without lead times, but this can sometimes impact the quality of the final outcome.
Will you style my home after installation?
Yes, final styling is included in our full-service design packages to ensure every detail is perfect and your space is photo-ready. It’s the cherry on top of a well-executed design process.
How do you incorporate my personal style into the design?
We start with a personalized consultation to understand your preferences and lifestyle needs. By anchoring the design on your vision and your story, we ensure your space feels like home, but better.
How do you handle procurement of furniture and decor items?
We liaise with local furniture and art vendors to manage all ordering and procurement. We also support coordinating delivery and installation, making the process smooth and stress-free for you.

I primarily serve Melbourne and surrounding areas, but our virtual design services are available to clients worldwide. We’re currently working on projects in the US.

We maintain open and flexible communication to accommodate changes or revisions, ensuring the final design meets your expectations and brings your vision to life. We provide options on some items during the selection process, and our process allows for revisions to ensure everything is perfect.
